SOME THOUGHTS ON PIXEL REMASTER CHANGES

They nerfed the Heal Staff... IT NO LONGER CURES CONFUSE when you wallop someone with it, boooo

I do like being able to switch off random encounters when I get lost in a dungeon and am sick of them lmao. Also v useful for Karkak Castle

Translation wise, they changed "light warriors" to "warriors of light" which is more consistent with the rest of the series but I liked having be a lil different... it kind of fit with this group of them not being super serious

They also removed Faris mixing up gendered terms for herself. Specifically the "me, a prince? Er, princess?" moment to just "princess" which hm... I do not like

It feels like them trying to sanitize it by wiping out the idea of Faris being "confused" or going back and forth on how she sees herself

They also change up Galuf's initial dialogue about it in a way that makes me think they're trying to make it not offensive (he previously commented directly on her boobs and now he says something else, lmao) but I don't think Faris going back and forth was offensive. It's a natural consequence of being raised as a girl for 5 years and a boy for the next 15

And having non-standard feelings about what your gender is in a society that still only knows the strict binary version
