I was tempted to give him Altair's white knight chess piece but the somnolent gaze works too well with Sirius needing to consume dreams as a wraith

he slowly starts to lose himself the longer he goes without consuming a dream, which he is very resistant to since dreams are very important to him.

the more he loses himself, the more his eyes become shrouded in darkness. The silver glow of his somnolent gaze is like a welcoming light that guides his victims into sleep. It's a fun way of twisting the way his eyes used to glow into something that suits the monster he sees himself as deep down.

which is why I chose offering and wraith for Sirius in the first place

ooh good question! I hadn't decided on the dream details yet. I think it could be fun to tie in the way Sirius's magic resonated with with emotions, so instead of images, when he consumes dreams he would feel the emotions instead. In which case yes dreams and nightmares would feel different

The question struck me because I am sure Ignis is having nightmares of what lead to his blinding so I was like...Hmmm....I know someone who eats dreams, I wonder...

with Kai's magic it can be difficult for him not to get lost in the emotions he feels from the dead, so I might steal that idea with this as well and make it harder for Sirius to differentiate his thoughts from the dreamers with stronger emotions

I honestly love having the emotions element tied in! But yes, I've been thinking about how messed up his sleep probably is between nightmares and being newly blinded, and he's probably got exhaustion creeping up on him and no coffee to deal with it. LOL! Logically he would eventually be like, I have to do something with these nightmares, but what?

If he was helping someone else while dealing with his own problem, it would be something he would be a lot more likely to actually DO

lol yeah Sirius didn't have to sleep as a mage so he's having a hard time adjusting to sleeping as well. And he also has nightmares lol

lol I love how similar these two are. Sirius doesn't like eating dreams and he will try to resist even at the danger of losing himself, BUT eating Ignis's nightmares would help Ignis sleep then he would be more willing to do so
