What made him hate his dad??

He doesnt hate his dad; hes srill very attached to him, misses him, loves him, cries about missing him (his dads in jail), etc. But his dad abused him. He cant see it, he doesnt recogbize its abuse due to grooming, he thinks it was just a special way of love. He doesnt rememeber ir as traumatic, but his body and mind do
