it's not going to find many aphids to eat there - and it's not a very sensible place to pupate either (given that it's already large enough to do that).

a lot of lavender in flower outside the front of the house and that had some enthusiastic bees on it early this morning - albeit somewhat fewer than might have been expected. But the sun hadn't reached that side yet.

remembered to sploosh some bathwater over the lawn today - unlike the last few baths - in the hope that it will recover a bit from the ongoing drought.
