there was barely any rain last night from the much delayed and supposedly high warning storm front.

checked the local weather monitoring station and they only recorded 0.8 mm in the first batch and .3 mm half an hour ago.

gosh it was so hot here in the Yorkshire Dales. I opened the Velux above my bed and nasty brown gunge dripped into my suitcase while I was asleep. Luckily it missed my clothes.

that being gunged is unacceptable. But I also feel that all the insect etc plagues are unacceptable. Eg the latest sudden one in this room is very tiny & largely indestructible black mites.

being repeatedly attacked, ie crawled on. They also like the computer screens and it may have been a pair of them in my water tankard. They're definitely not thrips (the usual thunderstorm invaders).

thrips are a complete pain. They crawl into my computer LCD monitors behind the front surface and then die.
