[Star Trek] going to finish season one of The Next Generation. I've just got two episodes left: "Conspiracy" and "The Neutral Zone".

I've been enjoying this season a lot so far; this series apparently gets much better in season 3, but I'm already having a great time with it.

Data laughing is both funny and unsettling haha

I remember Walker was paranoid, but he seems even more extreme now.

I get that he doesn't have much say in the matter, but Picard's definitely coming across as suspicious as far as his crew is concerned. (Also, I'm guessing one of the people at the meeting will be a traitor)

I mixed up Walker and Admiral Quinn. (Quinn was the one who warned Picard)

I'm not sure if this is the first time (aside from time travel being involved) that I've seen a Star Trek episode where the Enterprise returns to Earth.

It's Yeerks! (Well, not quite, but it's insects that control the minds of humans)

The head parasite, and its effect on the host, is disgusting.

And that was before the host's head and torso exploded.

I think that was my favourite episode so far. I'm surprised it wasn't the season finale.

The Neutral Zone feels like two very different episodes merged together - contact with the Romulans after 50 years and finding frozen people from the late 20th century.

I guess from the perspective of the Enterprise's crew, this would be like if random people from Shakespeare's time wound up in the present day.

I feel like the Romulan's dramatic speech about how they are back (and opposed to the Federation's expansion) would be more dramatic if I'd seen more episodes with them from the original series.

Done. Despite my concerns, the final episode of the season turned out better than I thought it would be.
