[Doctor Who] watching the new episode, The Reality War. I have a few concerns going into this, though I hope they're unfounded. (SPOILERS)

My chief concern is that I'm hoping that the Doctor doesn't regenerate. (Or if he does, that it's handled well) I found out that they normally announce the Doctor's new actor well in advance, but with the Disney Plus deal ending, I'm not sure if they'd want to make the next season a fresh start.

I'm hoping that Omega (if he even physically appears) is handled well. My favourite moment in Arc of Infinity is when Omega is wandering the streets of Earth enjoying the simple things like music - I don't want him to be a mustache-twirling villain.

I'd like it if Belinda was more active compared to the past few episodes. I really liked the moments in Lux where she called out how absurd the Doctor can be at times, but the Interstellar Song Contest and Wish World didn't really have moments like that.

I'm also hoping that the Rani's plan makes sense/fits her character, though I'm less concerned about that one as I don't know much about the Rani beyond the two stories I've seen her in. (Mark of the Rani and Dimensions in Time)
megadoomer
Enough worrying on my part; I'm starting it now. (It's an extra long one - over an hour)
megadoomer
Love how the Rani's like "magic door? Oh, that is BULLshit!"
megadoomer
It's Groundhog Day!
megadoomer
I liked the inclusion of past Doctors.

It says a lot about Conrad's worldview that Rose Temple-Noble simply didn't exist in it.
megadoomer
If the Rani wants Desiderium (not sure if I spelled that right) to be older, she has a time machine. Maybe she's paranoid, or there's some downside to prolonged exposure that she's making Conrad go through, but you'd think she could have left the baby in the care of Mrs. Flood for a few years and jumped forward in time.
megadoomer
The Rani and Mel really hate each other. (I feel like it's not as dramatic in the original episode)
megadoomer
"With [Omega's] body, I can resurrect the Time Lords!" I can already see a major flaw in the Rani's plan - Omega doesn't have a body, and he's made out of anti-matter at this point if I recall correctly.
megadoomer
The Rani feels more in-character here.
megadoomer
Not sure how I feel about Belinda's main narrative purpose seeming to be that she's the mother of the Doctor's child from another universe. (I'm guessing Poppy is Susan's mother)
megadoomer
When the Doctor was asked if he wants to see Omega, I'm surprised he didn't say that he's done that at least three times now. (Counting the 2nd and 3rd Doctor as two times)
megadoomer
Not a fan of Omega wanting to consume all of time/existence. (Or his new appearance)
megadoomer
I have a gut feeling that the Rani's plan isn't going to be dealt with as easily as it seems - it was all undone so quickly and there's still 30+ minutes left.
megadoomer
I feel like the wording of the Doctor's wish is going to backfire.
megadoomer
I feel like the Doctor remembers, but he doesn't want to say anything in front of Belinda.
megadoomer
I wonder if the Boss is the same one that the Meep was working for.
megadoomer
In Doctor Who canon, Ernest Borgnine is 108 years old.
megadoomer
I like the cameo, though I don't the cause of it.
megadoomer
I'm not sure if the Doctor is going to keep reality like this or try to fix it.
megadoomer
It sucks that Ncuti Gatwa is the first Doctor since Colin Baker to only get two seasons, and that he never got to see Daleks on-screen, and that his seasons were so short that he barely had more episodes than Christopher Eccleston.
megadoomer
What? What? WHAT?
megadoomer
Not sure how I feel about the new Doctor. It could be interesting, particularly if there are multi-Doctor stories, and I'm looking forward to how they'll do in the role, but I'm concerned that it feels a little self-indulgent on Russell T. Davies's part for the lack of a better word.
