That could be my own damn fault. Hard not to think of Fallout’s chopper stunts as superior. Plus Cruise trying to maneuver around the plane kept reminding me of my cat.
What I did thoroughly enjoy was the dude behind me whispering his commentary. Just simple “shit! oh no!” or “sooo crazy yo!”. Didnt ruin my cinema experience. It was the only thing grounding the film in any way for me.
Morning after thoughts: - Bringing back the dude from the first film was great. - Every other reference to past films (rabbits foot, Phelps' kid) were ridiculously unearned. - The decompression chamber cuddle was very reminiscent of the Top Gun Maverick scene of "we swear Tom is not gay".
- Pom's schtick of blunt French commentary was amusing but we really just wanted to see her kick ass more. (she didn't). - Would not have been angry if Ilsa came back. (also, didn't)

Really can't remember anything about this franchise after the third film.
