where the central thesis seems to be that peoples living in certain geographical condition typically ended up living in poverty

which fair it's not the ONLY condition but I can see that

there's a couple of red flags, the biggest tone being that he's one of those who went to Everest and is calling the Sherpa loyal and stuff like that in a slightly paternalistic way

and it took him til backpacking through Eurpoe to realize that people could live in horrible conditions? because no one in the US does? He's from California

tho that was in the 50s so fine I suppose but I'm keeping an eye on you bub

On the other hand it's interesting to think of who is the intended audience is for this 8|a

like maybe if they don't want foreigners in this place that's more purely and culturally Buddhist (according to you) don't go!

it reads like a goddamned resume. I know all the charities this guy founded
