my attitude toward black bears is more "giant bastard raccoon" than "ah, scary," honestly. but somehow, I haven't ever had to deal with them in the trash before.

yeah, and I have encountered them in much more tense settings... like walking the dogs on the Greenway..

we'll have to disincentivize the behavior, which may mean saying goodbye to our bird feeders too.
