[Doctor Who] watching "Planet of Evil" from Tom Baker's second season.

As of now, I'm thinking I'll rotate between Leela, Sarah Jane, and Romana I (though I only have two serials left for Sarah Jane - once I'm done that last serial, I'll go back and forth between the other two) and leave Logopolis for the end.

I don't recognize the writer's name. (Louis Marks)

megadoomer
The setting definitely has a visceral/grimy look to it.

megadoomer
Can't tell if this miner is paranoid, insane, or absolutely correct that the planet is alive and hiding its minerals from the people on it. It really could go either way.

megadoomer
The death acting was kind of rough, with the victim stretching his arms like he just woke up from a nap.

megadoomer
This first exchange between Sarah Jane and the Doctor reminds me of why I like this duo so much - Elisabeth Sladen does well with portraying Sarah as someone who's familiar enough with the Doctor and observant enough to pick up on when he's trying to cover up a mistake.

I'll probably watch other Doctors at some point (I'd like to watch 7's Dalek serial), though I want to make progress with my New Year's resolution to watch any of 4's episodes that I haven't seen, so that'll be my focus for now.

megadoomer
I wasn't expecting whatever's behind this to bring the bodies back after they disappeared.

It's mentioned that seven men have died as a result of whatever's happening on Zeta Minor, though it's mentioned that there were eight people there, the Professor seems to be the only survivor, and one of those seven was one of the crew of the spaceship.

megadoomer
(so one person seems to be missing, unless by "seven men", they're not counting their crewmate)

megadoomer
"You will be given a chance to speak." The captain looks at the crewmate who said that like "not if I have anything to say about it!"

megadoomer
The way that the forces on Zeta Minor are described remind me of the No-Things from the 14th Doctor's episode. (Wild Blue Yonder)

megadoomer
I get that they mentioned that Zeta Minor is a border between the known universe and some kind of anti-matter universe, but the effects as the Doctor falls through the pit remind me of what Omega did during the Three Doctors.

megadoomer
I think I'll finish episode 3 tonight and then watch episode 4 tomorrow.

megadoomer
The captain is growing increasingly insane; he just shot the Doctor in the head with no hesitation.

megadoomer
I'm continuing the story. So far, it's an 8/10. A solid set of episodes, but when the rest of the episodes in this season are either 9/10 (Seeds, Morbius) or 10/10 (Pyramids, Zygons) for me, it's not quite as good by comparison.

megadoomer
Still, I'll likely pick this season up whenever it comes out on BluRay if an 8/10 is the worst that it gets.

megadoomer
(mind you, I haven't seen the Android Invasion; that could be a dramatic step down, though I doubt it)

megadoomer
It feels like they're using the exact same dummy for all of the dead crewmen haha

megadoomer
I enjoyed the last episode. Just one serial left and I'll have finished this season.
