my favorite part is how you need to get each tier of crafting gear fully pentamelded to be able to make the next tier of crafting gear

Nah u dont... you need current gear sure but you dont have to be penta melded... just have food and maybe a potion

No matter what I do, I cannot get the stats high enough to complete the base craft. No food or potion does it. Maybe you don't need full pentamelding but you clearly need to get part of the way there.

completing the base craft has never been the issue for me, HQing it is where I struggle
