HEY LISTEN
honestly need a gif that's like. the same energy as that NO PLEASE NO from The Office except "YES. PLEASE YES"
𝕊𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕖 𝔸𝕔𝕖
It's probably not going to go anywhere, but from the sound of it, Tanedar is the first of many lining up with impeachment articles.
HEY LISTEN
i mean this COULD get a lot of republicans out of the mess they're in with associating with Trump. but will they? doubt it
Platinum
Yeah, until he manages to alienate the GOP, it's just gonna be thunder without production.
ᴅᴇᴍᴏɴ ꜱʜᴏᴘɢɪʀʟ
Feels doubtful. Musk is probably still planning to help primary any GOP politicians who don't bootlick

By analyzing soil samples and measuring external gamma radiation, the researchers confirmed that the effective radiation dose to agricultural workers is well below Ukraine's national safety threshold, and significantly lower than background radiation levels experienced naturally all over the world.

The findings show that, with proper monitoring and adherence to Ukrainian food safety regulations, many crops can be safely grown in these previously restricted zones.

...I feel like I might be inclined to just... not... do farming there anyway
StupidSexyV⚠der
There are people who are "self settlers" there already anyway - typically very old people who came back decades ago and now have adult children who live with them as caretakers
StupidSexyV⚠der
And some people want to move back, because that's where they are from
Y yo a ti, Cas
Honestly that's really exciting. I know radiation is scary and all that, but like. From what I understand the assumption has been that radiation ground poisoning lasts a LONG time. Like. Generations kind of thing. It's why they've put up signs that read like th apocalypse has happened.
Y yo a ti, Cas
So like. Finding out that it can come down to manageable and/or safe levels this quickly is definitely exciting
curieosity。
the radiation poisoning that lasts a long time is very specific isotopes due to their half-lives. due to how the initial contamination occurred, those isotopes scattered unevenly and so contamination levels in an area can vary widely, especially based on how much of the contamination was previously removed (such as taking off topsoil layers)
Exacerangutan
yeah this is definitely one of those things where the general rule of It's Complicated applies
Exacerangutan
i mostly just worry that putting farms there implies spreading those soil contents far and wide, and I don't have massive confidence in the non-toxicity of the plethora of oddball isotopes left over there, even if their radioactivity is pretty low
Exacerangutan
it just seems like a really big, really unnecessary experiment with the health of lots of people who aren't the ones choosing to move there
