My physical therapist cancelled last Friday (called me at 5:45 am) due to an emergency and she just texted me she will not be working all week. I just recalled that her grandpa was going to get surgery I think last week. Should I ask if all is ok with her grandpa ?

What if he passed but she doesn’t want to talk about it. Should I not bring it up? But then it looks like I dgaf and she talked several times over the past weeks about her grandpa’s upcoming knee or hip surgery.

maybe approach it more generally like "i hope everything is ok with you and your family" or something...that expresses your concern and opens it up for her to speak to it at her comfort level
