related to the Cheradenine post, I recently re-read the TV Tropes post for the book and man

it really annoys me that whoever made it is like "yeah, Diziet Sma is right! Cheradenine Zakalwe is a psychopath!"

he stopped being a poet because he killed a nest of young birds on accident and felt so bad about it he thought that meant he could only be a killer

yes, he committed atrocities, yes, he's pretty damn horrible

but he's not an unredeemable monster

tbh, that page is part of why I decided to put him on TLV

though TV Tropes is often worse than most places about it

at least w/ TVTropes if you're mad enough about it you can just go in and edit the page yourself, especially if it's not for something particularly popular
