This book I just listened to at work made the bold move of including an autistic kid as a major secondary character without actually identifying him as autistic, then killing him off towards the end to make the main character Actionably Sad.

And by bold move I mean YIKES

(The book is Hawk by James Patterson and whichever poor soul actually wrote the book that his name is on.)
