What little thing do they find incredibly (though harmlessly) annoying about the other? this was so hard because even with dealer's choice, it's so hard for either Jedao or Kahl to be annoyed by someone they really care about - harmless things get converted to fondness, and they get aggravated by things they think DO have consequences

Jedao One married Quentin Coldwater from the Magicians trilogy and he found Quentin's taste in books to be SO ANNOYING

I would say maybe 8/10 of the books quentin recommended to him he absolutely hated, especially in the beginning before Quentin got a handle on his taste

verbally, he's happy to say I Love You Back but if he's not at that level with someone, he's far more likely to identify Specific Things About Them that he likes/admires rather than his own feelings
