I'm also letting people know that STARTING WEDNESDAY I LEAVE FOR A TRIP FOR THE REST OF APRIL!!! So I am trying to get stuff into a place where I can do CASUAL NETWORK TAGGING! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!
and thank you so much PG! I'm glad that it could be caught quickly because I want things with a significant effect on the game to, like, not need to be edited and inconvenience everyone
ʀᴜsʟɪᴛ ᴀɴᴛᴀɢ🧨
ᴄᴏғғᴇᴇ.
by the way my thought was that a good while before the post, Walter found out about Pyotr's coma and left a copy of No Exit with him.
whew I am glad it is well received cause like I thought I came up with it when we were all talking though when I was getting ready to actually comment just now I was like WAIT. WAIT IS THAT TOO DIRECT.
* I think we were talking a while ago about how Pyotr's coma would come to light and at that time, I was thinking to myself about this idea and thought it was likely to be chill
Unsurprisingly the good place made me think of it. it's also like "you know Petya... what is actually your plan in this freakin place if you hate me and do not wanna be friends anymore". but also Garcin finally concludes, "Eh bien, continuons..." ("Oh well, let's continue...") this made me think Yes. This Is European Humor
It kind of has that quality of feeling like RP, which I enjoy lol. In the sense that it feels like something people would just come up with for the sake of telling a story without worrying too much about whether or not it's ridiculous/silly. i think the show makes it work with its type of humor and afterlife setting
at least those three aren't going to abandon each other...! even if they're each other's torturers for eternity!!! at least they're not leaving!!! unlike... some people!!!
Yet another harsh truth Stavrogin will impress upon Walter: the part of Pyotr that really is THAT hateful and will hold a grudge out of pride and principle FOREVER... though also due to complex feelings of abadonment, well, like, you know, it's a spectrum, we will see in practice...
pyotr will hold a grudge out of pride and principle forever. against everyone but stavrogin, who has abandoned him twice and still can't get rid of him <3
> reading canon implying walter has done anything before very recently to try and learn about the boys on even terms, rather than just filter everything through the Retelling Of Canon From Misty, A Totally Unbiased And Reliable Source
Like he really was just like "ok so like you were harassed on a routine basis for completely unreasonable reasons like wanting to know who planted corpse parts in your room, or asking about how people have died, and so you did a shooting and then gave up" "ummm... Arthur is not always very nice but that doesn't mean your choices are right :')))"
Honestly I don't think anyone is braced for Walter to realize that Misty has been actually withholding crucial details instead of just being cagey about further details on unfair treatment that she has internalized she accepted
If there were absolutely no network then maybe he would have tried to, like, jump Arthur during a flood or something to find out what the fuck happened
Cause the network archive certainly made this A LOT WORSE but again he genuinely thought "Misty has been bullied and broken down in this place" due to many reasons from actual interactions
Walter: even if I accept that they free l reformed after the barge and went home intending to have a better life, what if Lottie just triggers their programming all over again? As happens routinely to demotees? Natalie: I met Lottie and she helped me
I think people who know John assume he means Arthur is an asshole (affectionate) like the way guys do and then when he’s an actual asshole, like a proper terrible asshole, they are surprisedpikachu at John being so close to someone who is capable of being that nasty. They’re not acting like he never said anything. The context just made the warning land
no, John's usually pretty clear about Arthur being an extremely acquired taste! I think people underestimate John bc he presents as so unobjectionable, haha
Walter thinks that Arthur and John are jerks with a condescending bad cop good cop routine who think that they're self evidently right in the long term. Like that they wouldn't deny that things like "inmates aren't bad, they just need to change" or "get over yourself, this sure isn't hell" are things that they said, and Walter is just overreacting
Why do you guys have to assume he would walk in and harsh your jam when you are in there minding your own business. He doesn't even go to the enclosure that much anymore, it's creepy
Which is also like. Uhhhh gee why would Walter be alarmed about EVIL DOPPELGANGERS IN THIS GODDAMN PLACE. what event could possibly have caused this to be a hill he would die on
Random, but I just wanted to stop by to let you know Walter's internal monologue made me smile. Never change, you wonderful man. unless you have to to graduate or whatever, which is super lame
Me cringing because I typo'd "wardens" as "warens". Don't worry though. This is actually also very Walter. Like the scene where Misty cringes and edits "goose chases" to "wild goose chases"
FʀɪᴇɴᴅIɴYᴇʟʟᴏᴡ
so I do not see any mention of the checkout guns on the setting page, it is news to me, but Walter has been proactive with resources in the library like the narrating magnifying glasses, so like should he know about them? Have you a link?
Garcin finally concludes, "Eh bien, continuons..." ("Oh well, let's continue...")
