I'll have to come back to this, but I do want to say it's incredibly funny that Eight is like...a little to the left of a lot of this

He doesn't deal with eldritch horrors: the horrors are very well explained as they swarm through town, devouring every living thing they see

Immortal: in his world, his people have such strong regenerative properties that technological advancements mean they can recover from just about any injury

Cults: He grew up under a dictator that heavily used propaganda, so basically the same thing

dys cannot actually relate much, the cult he grew up in was pretty nice. he hated it, but that wasn't really anything to do with the cult part.

Unthwackability : Man, for such a cute game Splatoon really is chock full of horrors! And I would say dictatorships are def equivalent to cults

For what it's worth, Eight is in a much better place now

tinybro : Keni will be VERY confused by the prospect of a cult that's not inherintly awful! I do love that Dys grew up in arguably the only "good" cult and he still hated it XD

He got out! He's free, he has friends, he can choose his own life for himself!

Unthwackability : I love that for Eight, after all the shit he's been through I'm glad he got to have a happy ending!

Actually it probably makes getting pulled into another underground horror show kind of bittersweet

But, y'know, he's a team player about it

That does def put a damper on that happy ending T-T One more trail for the Octo-boy

lol he's mostly just a prickly lil misanthrope, but the game does give the the opportunity to be like "hey isn't cultural assimilation kinda fucked up" when discussing the cult shit
