thinking out loud/brainstorming about some behavior/psychological changes in here for funsies...feel free to add fun changes you've given YOUR Pokéblorbos if you want

some of Shokakyu's fun additions include:

- being most active at night and energized by the dark. she can see perfectly in low-light conditions and probably has tapetum lucidum eyes
- makes awful, grating hissing noises when agitated
- has generally heightened senses. her senses of smell and hearing are mmmaybe about equivalent to an irl mouse? lmao

- of course a natural aversion to her true form being seen. on top of constantly wearing and being protective over her disguise rag, even just drawing too much attention to the fact that she’s wearing a costume discomforts her

try to take a peek at her true form or just ask too many questions about it and she might react violently. this is apparently entirely out of her control and she surprises herself with her own reactions. she's never really been that self-conscious about her appearance before so her reactions probably come COMPLETELY out of left field. even to her

no perceive. not allowed

she doesn’t even have a real answer for why she’s so against others seeing her true form...the best answer she can give if she has to give one is that she just somehow knows instinctively that something bad will happen if others see her. source: just trust me bro

[ hiding Mimikyu noises ]

- she LOVES Pikachu now...even though she's never actually seen one. when she eventually does her reaction will probably be huge and embarrassing (and compulsive, much like her DO NOT PERCEIVE ME impulse)

i will probably also be forever vague in the ways i describe her true form because it being unknowable and her anatomy being kind of incomprehensible is kind of the appeal. TO ME...the world's tiniest eldritch horror

i like to imagine this maybe being furthered by any in-universe research on Mimikyu being very limited, if not just non-existent...back before i joined i asked the mods a few questions about Mimikyu and they mentioned at one point that it's a "cursed" Pokemon and there are rumors about looking at it causing death and illness, etc etc...

so maybe Pokésociety is kind of adverse to studying them also. Shoka experiences a Pokémicroaggression going to the Pokédoctor

ONE DAY i'd like to play around with situations where she IS able to let other characters look at her though....but it will take a huge amount of trust and she'll probably reveal her true form on accident before that happens

the one character who has seen it was Perrin (because her disguise fell off in the water during her arrival 😭) but it was obscured so he didn't like. die

love at first sight? no. she doesn't have to see. she just Knows.

perhaps it will be like a Ponyta situation where if there's enough trust, looking at her true form might not cause any pain...or characters familiar with her can build up their own immunities? either way would be fun for me to pick at.....ooohhh you nerd characters wanna study me soooo bad it makes you look stupid

HERSTORY : EXACTLY. she sees a Pikachu at the market one day and is just like I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN SOMEHOW????

fun perrin fact is that he is struggling to resist the urge to fly (he doesnt know how to fly properly yet, yet the dragonite yearns for the skies...)

he also finds it even harder to not help people. and is able to slightly sense the changing weather in his bones, and finds it Weird.

WHAT THE HELL YOU MEAN HE HASN'T FLOWN YET......Shoka is so jealous of characters with wings (she used to have them as a Reaper) and you're NOT EVEN USING THEM?
