pet peeve: when people say "foilage" when what they mean is "foliage" which is a DIFFERENT FUCKING WORD

I still think she was unfair, though. I learned it from reading a grown-up book, I deserved some credit!

soooo many of my friends were the same, getting all their vocabulary from books so they pronounced everything wrong... I used to drive my friend Lizzy insane by doing that

8-year-old me thought chaos theory would come up way more in adult life than it actually has

I really thought learning to identify and avoid quicksand would come up more.

Plus it’s way less dangerous than advertised

From what I understand most/all quicksand deaths are from bad things happening to people while they’re stuck, not from the quicksand itself
