[switch2] given the lack of enthusiasm and/or interest in the console on my timeline, I'll be posting about it as I learn more things for my own amusement.

First: storage!

this machine does not take standard micro sd

it takes a new varient called a micro sd express, which apparently has load time parity with the system's internally stored games

they are also pricy mofos at higher capacities. I'm not getting single terabyte of storage unless I'm willing to cough up 200 big ones. not worth

256 internal makes it feasible to go without, if you don't need more than a handful of games to begin with

although, for those shopping for handheld pc consoles, it was implied by the ign article I read that Micro SD Express might become the standard for storage, so make of that what you will

I think it's more people are waiting to see the fall out of tariff bullshit

Second: gameshare

this one's a bit of a throwback to the DS days

back then, if you and your friends had some ninty DSes but only one copy of Mario Kart DS, it didn't matter

because the game owner could host download play and your friends could enjoy the game that way! hope you like shy guy

with the switch 2, if you don't want to pay 80 bucks to play Mario Kart, you don't have to

if you have the console and the base Nintendo online membership, you and two others can piggy back off of the copy a friend owns and play multiplayer that way online!

and this time without the annoying character restrictions

this is the base subscription to ninty online, too, one yearly payment of 20 bucks and you're in

and I just think that's incredible
