I went to northern california 11 years ago and the monterey bay aquarium is amazing, highly recommend

I know when I was there last they were. putting in something new?? with sharks?? or had closed a shark area for renovations?? it was something that made me go OUGH I NEED TO COME BACK HERE WHEN THEY'RE DONE

if you're ever in my neck of the woods, there are a couple of aquariums, but idk how good they are since I've never been, but they're both very popular

I haven't been to the other two NC aquariums, so I can't comment on them, but the one I went to was so cool

it's a gorgeous aquarium, I love the outer banks in general though so I'm biased

I recommend avon, though I usually go earlier in the year and can't comment on how crowded it'll be in june/july. but honestly anywhere on the outer banks would be a lovely stay
