Hi plurk! I need your help!

đ catipede
I need a video hosting service that allows me to upload my speedpaints and link them to ko-fi for my subscribers to watch but I don't think YouTube unlisted is a good idea since you can just post the link or send it to someone.

đ catipede
I have upwards of ~40 videos I want to schedule and if YouTube is my only option I'll be very uncomfortable but whatever LOL

đ catipede
I don't have money for premium vimeo, which seems like the better option đ

I wish I knew. That is way out of my sphere of knowledge.

yeah unfortunately outside of YouTube and Vimeo the only solid options are getting a cloud account like Dropbox or Sync and hosting them that way

bean check
(i also hate YouTube and was checking alternatives when twitch started capping our highlight storage)

bean check
Since you want them for direct links and not for, like, discoverability, a cloud account might not be a terrible idea? Depending on how much you have, since free accounts are usually capped at just a handful of gigs

bean check
sync is the one i use since it's Canadian run and cheaper than Dropbox, though it still might be outside your budget:
Sync | Compare Plans and Pricing

: yeah I have zero money ):

bean check
the only other thing i can think of is to sign up for several free cloud accounts and spread your videos out between them + delete your videos after a certain amount of time to free up the space for new ones

bean check
i think Patreon will host creators' videos for subscribers but I don't think Ko-fi does the same

bean check
oh wait i missed the bit about you not wanting the link to be shareable

bean check
yeah even with cloud that's a bit tricky, you can usually set a password on the file but like, people can also share the password

bean check
the only alternative is restricting them to certain accounts, which requires that your subscribers have an account with the hosting service in question (and even then they could technically be downloaded in most cases)

: i ended up giving up and just using catbox, if paying people share them thats like, on them and not me

bean check
yeah that's probably the best approach
