ABOUT SPHENE. OF COURSE

so the tour of solution 9 was very purposeful, but a lot of those parallels to our first tour were spoken out loud

but im still captivated by the bit where we go get coffee

bc like. one of the major Things about endless sphene is how her position made her into a symbol and not a person

as an endless she wasnt able to eat, or drink, so slowly she forgot her own preferences

but while sphene is at first awed at all the options, she quickly finds a preference and an unpopular one in an old bitter kind of coffee

it both emphasizes how she isnt just a platform for others opinions and also is something out of a different time, herself

and like, i think this patch does say in the end that endless sphene did have her own will. i think we can say for sure she was based off the og sphenes memories at this point, not just others, and calyx's words make me think this

bc he talks about how he 'set up the situation so she would have no choice'

which implies she did have a choice: and he took it away

theres a lot of interesting layers here
