If you've read the epilog of Maelstrom of Fate, that statement will make sense to you.

I love it when characters get talkative.

I had an incidental character tap me on the shoulder to tell me he's actually an antagonist, so I know that feeling.

I love when writers complain about their character DOING THINGS they didn't expect.

I'm actually grateful. It gave me grist to expand the story some.

I just meandered about something similar, on BlueSky. I saw an upcoming Warcraft cosmetic feature option and this very young religious barged into my head, and later on told me her facial scars were getting clawed by a pet lynx.

I once killed a character. In fact I killed him in the same chapter I introduced him in. He complained and ended up getting his own story, about him as a child.
