MEME: Character & Player Questions because Alistair, at least, is back and I've been having a blast.

He's a great boyo.

16: My favourite thing with Alistair is when he really starts to figure out that he can be appreciated. Whether it's him being a goofball or whether it's him dealing with all of the hurt that he's had in his past. When he sees that someone really does appreciate all of him? I love seeing my boy be happy.

20: I can't think of anything I like to specifically avoid, but I can think of things that it takes someone I really trust when I'm playing against them? Because Alistair, love his heart, is pretty easily manipulated when he loves someone, and that can turn toxic. I'm not against playing something toxic, but there has to be an agreement made.

Like, it needs to be acknowledged that it's toxic, and that it's being played that way. Hopefully with some kind of "redemption arc" involved eventually.

4: He could be manipulated out of them to some degree, if the person doing the manipulating had first taken the time to manipulate him into full-on love with them, kind of related to what I said with 20 up there. I don't think he'd ever go full-on evil, but he can be pulled into doing some really heinous things because of loyalty.

If he thinks someone really does love him, he can and will give up his own judgement in favour of theirs.

5: Alistair wishes pacifism was viable, but in Thedas, it's really not. There are too many violent factions out there, whether it's the Darkspawn or whether it's people who think they're doing the right thing doing the wrong thing to enact the right thing (i.e. Loghain selling the elves from the Denerim alienage into slavery to fund his efforts).
⋆ᴛʜᴀᴛᴀʟɪꜱᴛᴀɪʀ⋆
He thinks people who claim to be pacifists might have the right idea, but they're just going to get trampled with things the way they are.
⋆ᴛʜᴀᴛᴀʟɪꜱᴛᴀɪʀ⋆
When he has to enact violence for a cause, his thought is to do it and get it over with as quickly as possible. He doesn't regret having taken lives in war or to protect himself, but he hasn't enjoyed it. Even Loghain, he didn't enjoy killing. It was just the right thing to do. There was some satisfaction, but not enjoyment.
⋆ᴛʜᴀᴛᴀʟɪꜱᴛᴀɪʀ⋆
Crossing the line between satisfaction and enjoyment is, to him, a sign of something going very wrong.
