just had a conversation with my boss where she basically told me I have to leave if I want to get paid as much as I should be getting paid. so... if anyone sees a remote data analyst job out there, hmu.

no shade on my boss here, she's been fighting for me to get a promotion/raise

but we were talking about it today and I learned that even if I get the promotion, the money will still be way below market rate for the new title (it will barely be market rate for my current title)

and she was like... yeah this is why people leave if they want a real salary bump :/ she also mentioned that my grandboss asked if I'm a flight risk so, like. yeah. I'm picking up what she's putting down but it's a bummer!

realistically I'm not leaving soon because the job market is pure hell and i like my job enough to be picky... but I'm definitely going from "open" to "actively looking"...

yeah, tbf I'm in a good position right now -- my job is pretty safe, I mostly like it, and it does pay decently, just wayyyy less than I'd make almost anywhere else. a lot of the competition is coming from the tech layoffs and now this fed stuff.

my hunting friends got laid off as a result of the federal funding cuts yeah... so not directly federal employees, but a LOT of people are affected by this bullshit and now flooding the market

i'm very familiar with "...wow i'm nowhere near industry standard pay, huh?" after a conversation with a boss who was advocating for me and hitting a brick wall too
