[ radio nerd stuff ] it's getting to the point in my studying for this exam that I don't need to read the question ...

pantherdragon
I just know what the correct answer is via the multiple choice options

WingsOfCover
XD

curieosity。
is it because the wrong answers are too obvious?

pantherdragon
partly

curieosity。
I can imagine

pantherdragon
it's also because my brain is a pattern recognition machine and I'm looking for the right shape of the answer given the question

pantherdragon
oh these words are used - these words then have to be used

pantherdragon
this is less useful for all the ones where I have to memorize the gorram numbers for frequencies

pantherdragon
but if they're talking about x they're always going to be using terms in this bucket here labeled x

pantherdragon
if that makes sense lmao

curieosity。
it does.

curieosity。
one thing I've noticed in some of the quizzes I take for my courses is that you can often pick out the right answer by seeing which terms are familiar

curieosity。
so similar concept

pantherdragon
okay the question now that I've done three chapters

pantherdragon
do I also do a fourth chapter

pantherdragon
because.

BattroidBattery
yeah, unfortunately being too good at taking tests is a skill that can degrade your actual learning

pantherdragon
yuuup.

pantherdragon
after the exam I’ll do something to relearn what I actually want to know lmao

WingsOfCover
I was an extremely talented test taker, and I also got very good at memorizing and then forgetting information for tests.

WingsOfCover
I actually encountered a test one time that was really good at having only one obviously wrong multiple choice answer and usually two or three extremely plausible answers. where the wrong answers were very close to the right one if you didn't know the material very well
