: The mail/supply boat comes once a week, unless the lake is frozen or they can't get through. That's also when the keepers swap out.

I should add that getting in and out of the boat is a bit tricky in rough weather.

Electricity is provided by the onsite diesel generators in the basement and solar panels that are on the upper tower. It used to be used to power a giant lightbulb, but now it's a giant LED.

the actual main job is servicing and maintaining the generators, the light looks after itself these days honestly.

by the way, the lighthouse is a 19th century vintage construction, made of 5-foot thick stone at the base and 22 inches thick at the top.
