it wants to fashion itself as complex but it's really not. it's very: the moral of the story is to fucking tell people shit and grow as a person, numbnuts
The breakneck pacing of the scenes and the constant ominous thriller-like score that played in just about every scene triggered my anxiety. I started feeling really unsettled about halfway in and considered leaving.
and in SPITE of the fact that the gd celestial out in the indian ocean is a Big Deal, I STILL don't feel like anyone has to see eternals. I don't feel like I do anyway. cuz I already knew about the celestial in the ocean lol
I'm actually kinda surprised eli wasn't in it at all. like we gotta do patriot at some point c'MON. but also boy the movie was packed with older plot threads as it was
Also I'm laughing at how Bucky's role in this movie was basically the grandma in Moana 2. Just shows up real quick to go "remember who you are. Remember why the ocean- I mean Steve chose you. Anyway, gotta go, bye I love you"
and the only reason we were at odds with japan, briefly, was for perfectly understandable reasons, not just 'fuck u I want all of this' (I mean, ross did want to go there, but for hulk-y reasons)
I also appreciate that the conflict by Celestial Island COULD be resolved by Sam and Torres inserting themselves and buckling down on holding the line.
(I mean, ross did want to go there, but for hulk-y reasons)
