One drop, then another, tapping on the umbrella,Drip-drop, composing a rhythmic melody.

Before the leather shoes could soak through, someone—who knows who—made a suggestion.

"Amused" , he said, and the raindrops are bouncing, the air alive with a silent invitation.

"No, don’t," you whispered in warning, but your laughter betrayed you. That desire rushing in like the downpour.

One step, then another, water splashing all around, you spun and stepped. The rain drowning out the clamor.

And in that moment, you danced in the rain.
