- Started the year in England presenting at the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies Conference. - Diagnosed with colon cancer, had 1/4th of my colon removed, some foods are still evidently a "cannot have" but I'm mostly back to normal. - Taught all of my classes even with the above. - Visited my parents in Arizona.
- Spent most of May - June recovering. - Travelled back to Illinois for my grandma's 90th birthday party in July. - Classes started again in August. - I became the faculty chair of the University Curriculum Committee.
- The university's grand "we're doing a pay overhaul and we're promising we're going to improve people's pay" netted me a raise of 2.05%. - I was asked to take over a study abroad in London with 6 weeks to prep for the experience before students had to sign up for it. - Played a lot of D&D with friends in Jan-April. Less afterwards.
- I got back into the gym after not being able to work out because of my surgery, and that felt good. - I realized that a lot of people were really concerned about me for my surgery, which was comforting. - I went to London for the study abroad I am currently teaching, meaning I've spent my last two New Year's Days in England.
