jumping in on this -- gimme books!

after years of barely reading at all I read something like 60 books this year, so eager to keep it up and add to the 2025 list

I'll share some recs of my own itp: The Djinn-bot of Shantiport, Babel, The City We Became, The Fifth Season (I did a run on NK Jemisin), This Is How You Lose the Time War, The Alice Network, and The Appeal

and I'm only partway through The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store but it's very good so far

Have you read The Goblin Emperor or it's not sequel sequels?

also the Daevabad trilogy for amazing world building, story, and characters. Just all round beautifully done and quite intense

they are short and very funny and oddly cute

I should give Murderbot another go - I read the first one and enjoyed it, but didn't love it. But that might have been my head space.

eh, i think if you read the whole thing and it didn't click it might just not click. the other books are pretty similar. although there is a character in the... I think second one that is also delightful if you do want to give it another shot
