Remember to be careful of how you headcon some characters if you are not that thing. This doesn't mean you can't but please consider why and what makes you think that if it is enforcing a harmful steriotype. This does not include projecting at all, Ie: ace people headcanoning a character as ace or trans people headcanoning a character as trans.

Once again this is not a catch all "If you're not ace don't headcon them as ace" thing its a thing about sometimes how you headcon a character can be bad and you should really consider why you feel that way.

i get it. like yeah dont headcanon a character with DID just because they have moodswings without really considering ig

if you don't have a disorder, aren't a certain race, religion, identity, and want to headcanon a character as such, research and ask others for their experiences to make sure it is correct and not harmfully wrong
bread756
not always but yeah

i think sometimes its more of a vibe thing and specifically trying to understand it in a way can lead to stereotyping. like i headcanon some characters as trans because my brain tells me "yeah theyre trans now," not really "i have to make sure this character fits the trans stereotype" research wise
candy5797
i see no issue in headcanoning characters as identities, religions and disorders you don't have /don't know about though i feel like a bit of research so you're not saying something that's misinformation within it <\3
bread756
ohh yeah i get that i just meant sometimes researching certain things can lead into further stereotyping

unfortunately true

I think just kinda be mindful. For example think of Luisa from Encanto! Its not wrong to headcon her as transmasc or transfemme but it does show a harmful steriotype! The same goes with headconning Disabled characters as asexual!
