the entire time while jazzy and i were watching mlc i was rotating that man so hard and so fast in my mind that i simply could not stop when we were done. rewired my mind entirely. OBSESSED with that little freak and the tragedy of it all.

also it felt for the first time like a character i would want to do a whole character arc with if i got him into a long-term game, so that seemed like it would be a fun challenge. you can let him go at the end of his canon like he wants OR you can keep doing so much shit to him in service of fixing him a little

also it helped that jazzy was at the same time goin Thru It about dfs so whenever there are two characters that are Like That we will fall into the deepest pits of synergy and then it's over for everybody anyway

1) What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?

he will be like "oh hell yeah time for a nap" and simply go to sleep. not a problem for him at all. if he wakes up three hours later and he's still in line at the DMV or w/e then maybe he will get restless.

big open laughs are very very rare. he has to be feeling extremely fond and caught very off guard for those (OR very emotionally unwell) and even then they are not boisterous. but he laughs genuine laughs (small, covered up quickly) and he laughs to appear easygoing or disarming and he laughs when he's upset.

7) What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

local man who spent ten years letting go of his past life sure held onto a lot of objects connecting him to his past relationships :/ he feels nostalgic at the drop of a hat, perhaps in part as just the way his memory works, where it does seem like he just doesn't forget anything he's ever known/learned, no matter how small.

so what we tend to see it be triggered by most often is objects, and the nostalgia is for people

it's a feeling that's complicated??? bittersweet??? he fears feeling connected to people and he has so many regrets that feeling nostalgic usually turns into feeling guilty and regretful. but he is clearly attached to these connections and seeks them out, drinking the wine his shifu liked, cooking his recipes

the whole "i'm fine, i'm not going to die" is probably way up there. either completely avoiding admitting to being sick, or admitting he's sick but it's not that serious.

he does not regret that, it's either a) none of someone's business or b) to keep someone fussy off his back or c) to keep someone he cares about from being upset

living completely independently is a LOT of work and he takes pleasure in a lot of the work that comes with it and the sense of independence it gives him

he has cultivated the quality of slowing down and taking things easy at times, of not working more than he needs to in order to sustain himself and be comfortable, of letting a task lie a day longer than it needs to, put it's all on purpose and it took a lot of time to learn how to even do this, as a formerly extremely driven person

he enjoys some things that might make him LOOK lazy, like reading and napping and fishing, but appearing lazy also just plays into his silly little guy persona
