I kind of get people new criticism around Rise of the Beasts and compare it to Bay movies when it comes to action, etc., since I do think they tried a return to form there. But I'll never accept it for Bumblebee. Whether you like it or not, it is too different in intent to Bay's, and I do think it succeds in what it was trying to be where RotB didn't.

I get people who prefer Bay's not finding Bumblebee very fun. It has action (very great action! imo), but they are reserved to the start and end of the movie with plenty of slower moments in the middle. The slower parts are definely not as memorable. (though I'm surprised people tend to not remember the end, such fun villain deaths)

but non memorable middle vs. nothing memorable outside of blurs of action from Bay? Bumblebee is the winner.
