Why does this always happen?

Shiny hunting a different water type in the coastal biome. Turn around. Shiny froakie. Just chillin checkin my menus... little pink noodle dragon trying to sneak away. Randomly trying to travel- oh look! Shiny murkrow!

oh and lets not forget... route 1 or 2 in sword and shield. Just started the damn game. Running around in the tutorial grass to catch the mons in that area

but then later on in the game I spend seven hours trying to get a shiny noibat. Seven hours of egg hatching constantly.

I was like six times over odds before I gave up

idk, the only time i ever managed to catch a shiny was by mistake. I have a rule where i catch the first of every kind of pokemon i run into and just battle the rest without catching them, right?

so i was in Sun/Moon and just wandering through and i caught a Fletchling without thinking about it. it became one of my favorite pokemon

i didn't even really process the fact it let off sparks every time i pulled it out until it was a Talonflame and i asked my girlfriend why it did that and if it was sick

and she looked at me like i was nuts and said no, it was a shiny

surprise shinier are always great
