Is anyone on my timeline flat footed and has recommendations for walking/running sneakers?
Blue Oni
I have flat feet and I’m trying to start my six mile walks again but the sneakers I have have narrow bottoms. I have orthotic inserts but my feet are so wide that they’re like...sliding inward off of the soles of the shoes and my ankles are getting destroyed trying to walk properly

last I checked I'm pretty flat-footed. Usually anything with a memory foam insole is a good choice, and I swear by sketchers if I'm on my feet all day
Blue Oni
I’ve done almost 11 miles in the last two days and I want to just cut my feet off

Install roller skates

yeah. my husband also swears by sketchers because he is flat-footed and requires a wide. and sketchers reliably has wide sizes and a variety of insoles
Rizu
oh yeah should note I'm also a wide foot

I'm not flat-footed, but these are my casual/workout shoes:
Altra Lone Peak 7 Women's
Nice sturdy tread, wide toes, and the toe curves upward to give the foot a more natural motion, although I'm not sure what shapes help best with flatfootedness.

The line's also available for men's:

.... I don't know why I pasted the link twice, or why the URL's giving that weird text, it should be fine.

The problem is being flat footed makes my foot insanely wide. Most sneakers I end up destroying through use so I need to find a wide footed sneaker
Blue Oni
But I’ll look into sketchers
Blue Oni
I’m also a men’s size 13 so sometimes I think it’s better if I just wear the shoebox

yup. that's my husband too on size and sole destroying

IT’S AWFUL

I have bad feet, though they're not flat, and used to work jobs where I was on my feet for a majority of shift (sometimes 13 hours when I was doing nurse training)
sᴛʀɪᴋᴇʀ 🔪
throwing my hat in the Sketchers ring because they were the best I found

with the added bonus of there being waterproof/wipe-clean versions

ADDITIONALLY THOUGH, I also found old-school crocs to be comfy as all getout and they lasted FOREVER. They just weren't appropriate for hospital settings lmao

I have the opposite problem of high arches, but I will also throw in for Sketchers. they've got removable insoles so if you need to put a special orthotic in there, you have room
Season Three
I'm not flat footed, but have wide feet and adding to the sketchers pile. that or dr. scholl's, although idk if they just do dress/work shoes.

I'll thrown in a less common suggestion? I have high arches, and Hoka sneakers are the most comfortable I've ever worn. Slightly on the pricier end at around $100, but been worth it
Blue Oni
Interesting I’m going to research all of these

Thank you so much friendos

I wore mine through dw's animal kingdom, and never had issues if it's anything, lol

i’ve also heard hoka recommended by nurses who have to be on their feet all day!

on my end, i have flat feet and i swear by fitflops, they’ve been good when i’m walking a shitton in the city or a theme park etc

+ another vote for Skechers. I'm pretty flat footed and prone to pain. the Skechers are supportive and comfy

i'm not flatfooted, but i am a men's 13 and last year when i started a new job that kept me on my feet all day, my shoes were killing me for the first few months

nike air monarchs is what solved my problems
go rimbaud
they've got thick cushiony soles that make walking a lot better, and do run in wider sizes
Transient Anus
Not flat footed, but I have a job that requires non stop standing and walking for basically the whole shift and I agree that Skechers are great.

My mom is flat footed and I'm pretty sure she has multiple pairs of Skechers too.

Also recommending sketchers, there's one that they make that have these squishy memory foam insoles and they're very comfy
Reverse Mermaid
a lot of sketchers shoes also come in wide so that might help avoid your narrow bottoms problem
Reverse Mermaid
you probably want to look at their arch fit shoes, those are supposed to provide more support especially if you have fallen arches. my mom has really flat feet and she wears them all the time (and also does a lot of walking with the dog)
