background: sebastian's whole arc has been to seek out a wishing well to bring his adoptive mother back to life (she was killed by a disease + hunted down by witches/her missing boyfriendthing what got possessed by evil shit)
he's been palling around with a group of spacefaring people who are on a diplomatic mission to a planet full of halloween-meets-bioshock people in order to restore relations to a mermaid-siren-leviathan planet by way of an interstellar bridge
catches friendship feelings AS YOU DO, soulbonds to the forger of the group, learns how to have and deal with human emotions (took a normal cat and taught it shame and regret how dare i)
we reached the wishing well today, not because sebastian earned it but because a party member used divine intervention to save the man she loves from his death (they found him 2 weeks dead fear&hunger style and she's busted up abt it)
bc he knows he will never see his mother on the mortal plane, knows that he'd have been a shameful cat if he stole this wishfor himself and not his friend
