nodejs, nvm, etc. is a fucking dumpster fire of a programming language. apparently i've been using node.js 14 forever, and 22 is already out (20 is lts). package manager lists nodejs as nodejs, nodejs18, and nodejs22. none of that is relevant tho, and nvm is supposed to be the way.

nice, so i run npm and it lists "25 packages are looking for funding. use npm fund for details". of course i run npm fund, and it displays just the word "user". no list, no nothing. fuck paying js devers, yo.
