J2 is very unlikely to be pointlessly cruel ever, but he will be petty if he someone has badly hurt people he loves and he doesn't think he can talk them into regretting it
and then on the other hand I think he has a completely uncharacteristic fondness for danishes, because Nie huaisang talked him into trying one and it has that 'childhood nostalgic indulgence' feel for him, even though he wasn't really a child
he wants vengeance but what is vengeance against someone who is dead and cant suffer? to kill her more beloved child, to destroy all the life of her world, her works? he wants to be free but what does that mean, does it mean to choose how he lives or to throw the dice blindly on remaking himself
18 - i feel like Jedao has something in the silk dressing gown space where it's like. very flowy and drapey and it would be quite modest if he ever actually closed it at the front
which he wears semi-regularly when he thinks he might get a second round of morning sex if he lounges around enough without putting any real clothes on
20 - jedao definitely bathes most days! not out of fastidiousness but because for someone under house arrest who doesn't like food, A Really Nice Bath is one of the few simple sensory pleasures he had available to him
and in both cases I think it was relevant that they not just hurt Edwin, but hurt coming from a person he trusted/in the context of a trusting relationship
