Breaker 4 got me to watch more of Build Divers S1 and while I still have to finish it, I have a confession

I think in the broader sense I like it more than than Try, even if individual characters and moments of Try are more exemplary.

If only because Divers has one thing that Try completely lacks, and that’s any sense of friction or something to overcome that lasts more than a couple epsiodes.

Try just boils down to a bunch of two episode rival fights. There’s no outside friction so you always know the outcome. No antagonist at all.

Even if that friction does come from a tryhard poster who thinks he’s sephiroth

Divers IS mostly just a higher rent average kids hobby cartoon, but that’s not really a bad thing. Really its biggest anchor is Riku is a boring, stock protagonist.
