What is your source of inspiration whenever it comes to making OCs?

Gatchanko! now that I'm up and about to answer this, I guess it all depends on the setting of what their world is like. Most of my OCs are tabletop, so it all reflects on what kind of world would be normal.

For example, in one game, I had a character who was initially ready to be a thief archetype, but an event so amazing and heroic had happened that not only saved her life but inspired her to be a paladin instead and suddenly she was GaoGaiGar levels of fighting with COURAGE and inspiring people to handle things without the help of gods.

despite, you know, being a paladin. the irony was not lost on her.
