[meds/adhd] i need advice perhaps

dr prescribed vyvanse, cool

happened to open the cvs app and there was a "contact us" on it so i did

it's bc it would be three hundred dollars out of pocket for a month supply.

im gonna message my dr and ask what she recommends ig but like...... idk is there anything else i can do

they can't take goodrx for it since my insurance partly covers it or smth

i am going to lose my mind...... i just want my brain to work

rando here but there is absolutely generic brand vyvanse and i would ask about that if possible, or maybe a diff stimulant like ritalin lr or something !!

try going somewhere else and asking them to look up whether they could do the prescription with a goodrx code and specify up front you need to know how much it would be without insurance, and tell them what happened here

i assumed it was a controlled substance thing

idk but i had to bounce around for kasey's meds since the human version is ridiculously expensive and meant for like, cancer patients

hmm what about calling the same place back then and asking them to look up the price w/o insurance but with a code

i feel like they should be able to separate the two, they just didn't want to fuss with it

the goodrx price is also still like $75 😔 which like, if my dr can't help me id take, but woof

waugh... ok the office very kindly unraveled the situation for me and he DID just say "you can't combo it with insurance" weirdly....... i will go pick it up today when it's ready

my hsa funds are close to $75/month w my contribution anyway and they're never high enough to actually help w doctor bills so.
