Jamie is too quiet about it but Kahl is the only kind of god he can really grok with. He wonders how many people understand about revenge like that and can make someone feel less alone with it.
John adores Jedao so much. One of his happy people. And Florian thinks he's incredibly capable to the point where there is a wobble between respect and wariness.
Yunlan thinks that Jedao reminds him so much of Jedao Senior, only so much younger and hardened in entirely different ways. It's a resemblance that makes him enormously fond, but he's also fond of Jedao for the ways in which he's different (and has clearly learned important lessons in a very different way.)
J2 is a terrifying genius but also a genuinely good person without having had to put a shattered moral compass back together, and Yunlan respects him a lot.
Hakkai thinks Kahl's existence is frankly a horrible curse but that he's doing his best with it (HE IS NOT OKAY WITH THE VENGEANCE GOD THING) and can't be blamed
Silver thinks J2 is too insightful to manipulate, but cares about not being an ass enough that he largely won't interfere unless forced to, so Silver's staying clear
Sheehan thinks Jedao hung the moon. He appreciates his input and loves that he's become a grounding resource. Justine really likes Jedao? She finds him fascinating and the fact that he listened to her + John's recommendation has really helped. Godric loves him, obviously. That's his baby boy!
Corvo likes Kahl in a distant way. He respects him but is wary, like he is with the Outsider. Jacob adores him from a distance. And Justine loves him. Thinks he's purrrrfect. no notes.
and he's ofc fiercely invested in getting him to a place where he's comfortable with himself and the world at large, where he can find whatever peace means for a god of vengeance, and trying Real Hard to strike the right balance in helping that happen
Maddie thinks he's fascinating, in a way that's certainly dangerous but that is not a downside. Jean can go on about Phoenix being hope and not vengeance all she likes but burning shit down IS still part of the mandate
I need to bounce back to her and Jedao's post-Breach thread but she is feeling Cautiously Attached. And kinda wants to go flying with him once she can do more than hover
she teases him mercilessly and Jedao is like "according to my understanding of earth pop culture, I am getting a Good Grade in little brother slash grandwarden"
it's partly that Sheehan is very low-key about Emotions in the 50s man way, and Jedao doesn't appreciate the difference in earth decades at all, and partly that Sheehan is An Therapist and Jedao is carrying a little more baggage than he realizes about Niath recommending he be executed
Jedao was aggravated about Sheehan leaving the counseling office at the beginning, but he's been really impressed with the things he's done with the art room since, and Jedao really respects him for like...stepping back from a conflict and finding a different way to be helpful
Jedao is officially Acceptable Warden and Sebastian is almost offended by how much he appreciates having someone sympathetic in his corner. He's also very aware that Jedao is perceptive and very good at knowing the right things to say; he's not at all convinced everything Jedao tells him is genuine rather than what Sebastian wants to hear.
obviously malcolm is wrong about everything. so you see just because he's thoughtful and careful with his words doesn't mean he's not 100% sincere and trustworthy :>
like...she is One of His, obviously, patricides forever!!!! but also she has done horrible things to people who didn't really have anything to do with that, not as collateral damage but because she wanted to, and she has the power to do that
she's a living embodiment of like....some of the ways in which revenge becomes a cycle because revenge doesn't help you not be a person with a hugely warped personal relationship with violence
and he is not the god of justice, but it's his first real confrontation with some of the dissonance of victims who become perpetrators in a way that he has to like. look at it and think about it and what it means for him, and what he wants it to mean. and he doesn't know!!!
Gojyo @ Jedao: ...Like, intellectually he understands that Jedao probably has good qualities and is a good person who makes Hakkai happy, BUT everything is so weird between Gojyo and Hakkai now and it has to be someone's fault. Stop being so goddamn understanding.
I love Justine pushing that growth with how awful she can be!!!!! But she isn't really awful. She's just - to say she doesn't know better sounds cheap, but it's true.
Walter is intrigued by Kahl but is a little cautious about the whole superpowers thing. He doesn't really have an opinion of Jedao but is vaguely suspicious of him because he seems to be part of Arthur and JD's cuddle pile
Walter is SOOOOOOO curious about Frankie, he might even have glimpsed her between the stacks in the library and thought she was so cool and sharp but been shy in that moment. He's got a few barge reformist and revolutionary buddies but Frankie would be the first one CHRONICALLY online
Oh, and: I still need to throw Sebastian at Kahl, but the second Kahl turns into a cat Sebastian is going to assume he's A Cat For Real and worship the ground he walks on.
and now I have that song stuck in my head.
