Not the most newsworthy story, necessarily, but positive stories about people helping each other are always a good palate cleanser.

Yes, Trump Was in a Scary Helicopter Ride. But Not With That Politician.
There was a helicopter. It did make an emergency landing. But a former California lawmaker says Donald Trump has mixed up one Black lawmaker for another.
purkle archer
Is anyone surprised by that?
little prince
Not in the least. Especially because the guy who was actually in the helicopter had some choice things to say about Donald Trump’s ability to keep his helicopters maintained. (Or the lack of an ability, really.)

Oh gods...rabies has an insanely high mortality rate if it's not caught immediately, too :x

if 100% counts as insanely high. I would use stronger wording than that

I wasn't sure if there were no known instances of survival or just so few as to be not talked about, but...yeah.
StupidSexyV⚠der
there are a few. but we're talking less than 5 who have some natural immunity, and less than 20 who survived the Milwaukee Protocol with only the first patient surviving with minimal brain damage. 15 of them are either in a coma or a persistent vegative state
E.S. Levi
Situations that really make you question the morality of forcing people to ride out terminal illnesses, especially since the symptoms of rabies are utterly horrific...
StupidSexyV⚠der
having been a hospice care aide? I don't even question it anymore - it's evil to make people suffer like that especially if they very much want out
E.S. Levi
Honestly, if anyone doesn't think it's horrible, I'd advise them to look up the worst case of radiation poisoning ever. I'm not sure if rabies compares to that, but it's still...definitely way up near the top of 'worst ways to die'.
StupidSexyV⚠der
yeah I've read a few, not sure if it's one I've read of
E.S. Levi
The specific one I'm thinking of is Hisashi Ouchi.
E.S. Levi
There might have been 'worse' exposures in terms of severity of radiation, but in terms of suffering...
StupidSexyV⚠der
yeah
