definitely bring layers!! dc summer is close to what i'm used to, humidity is terrible here too so AC is usually pretty strong most places and i get cold even as someone who doesn't get cold easily
I'm from FL (further south but also "why did we build on this swamp land") and they used to blast the AC so much that it was always smart to bring something with sleeves around with you in the summer. DC is likely the same from what others are saying.
yeah as for the weather you're looking at 80s to 90s. we have had an incredibly hot and humid summer (i live within like 45min of DC, so their weather is our weather)
I just got my hair cut short with exactly that in mind so that's a relief haha. my stylist was able to squeeze me in last minute which I'm sure I'll be very grateful for
I'm used to 100+ degrees but there's literally no moisture in the air and I know that feels way different. I haven't experienced humidity in probably a decade LMAO
oh I don't have anything like that. I have a million light jackets though because you have to bring them around LA, it gets cool at night (for us babies who live here)
Or like French terry. I think we're talking about the same thing with or without a hood. I was like "light jacket? Isn't that bulky?" so I googled and... no, it's what I meant but with just a little collar!
I figured it out! we both meant like "that thing you buy at Uniqlo or lululemon or old navy or from tek gear and it zips and is maybe a little stretchy"
we're outta here in a couple hours hopefully enough time to finish packing and who knows maybe I can sleep on the plane or maybe it'll simply be a wild time
if you get 6am tags from me and they're terribly misspelled you will know why
I'm not NOT enjoying myself but if it wasn't for the con I'd probably be kinda bored. also it was so weirdly empty today in all the areas I thought would be touristy, I was completely baffled
we went to a couple museums today. natural history museum was so-so but I loved the national gallery of art and their Impressionist collection was stunning
court ๐ธ
: I admit I'm probably just spoiled because LA's natural history museum is so good but I also love museums!! (I just wanted more dinos HAHA)
we didn't even make it to anything earlier than 1700s but since there's a ton of medieval and Renaissance art in the Getty that's ok. I'm sure I could spend like three days in there lol
regarding DC I expected more cool old architecture but it doesn't have much of that and I was surprised... gonna try to make it to Georgetown in the evening but idk if we'll have time. apparently the cool buildings are there
update: this is just my Otakon plurk now
clothes are difficult
new hair new fitbit (screen) to log now many steps I take at the museum let's goooo hahaha
hope this is a good omen for August
and I'm sleepy I'm sorry.... I didn't catch up on taggies
if you get 6am tags from me and they're terribly misspelled you will know why
travel sucks.... I want to teleport...
