Watching a Yakuza 3 speedrun and there's a hilarious bit of tech in one of the big set pieces.

Namely there's a bunch of fights with triggers and they're not all made equal, some are easier than others by considerable margins. They're typically set up in such a way that you get a bunch of enemies with weapons, then another encounter with an elite mook or outright boss and their entourage, usually not armed.

And Yakuza 3 has the worst boss fights in the game. Like, it's called Blockuza by the fandom for a reason, everyone and their mom will perfectly block your attacks and then through out a guard-crushing counterhit from like the second boss onward.

So to save time and sanity, you want to use every weapon you can. Problem is they don't allow you to pocket items off the ground in this series in this game, and barriers form between points in the set peices.

So what you get to see is Kiryu beat the shit out of someone, take their gun or katana or whatever, and hurl it down the street as far as he can before returning to the fight.

And then keep doing that every fight or so, just throwing a small heap of deadly weapons slowly across Kamurocho.

Occasionally stopping to use a half-dozen gently battered handguns.
