CATS | hi, plurk! i'm looking for an emergency foster home for a mother cat and her seven (7) kittens in or around NC, US.

the kittens are less than a week old, and while healthy, their mother has been stressed out by constant rain and is starting to move them to a more dangerous place in our yard.

another pet has already been taken to the emergency vet this week for a wasp sting/bite from exploring this area, which is but one hazard there.

the mother is a stray and on top of the stress of travel + nursing, is likely to be unfriendly to/skittish with strangers. she is, however, seeking a place indoors and may adapt quickly.

i'm a sucker for those tiny noses and i'm closeby but i wouldn't dare bring neonates into the house knowing we're ill. but i hope y'all can find a good spot for them ASAP

except for one, the kittens are in a healthy weight range per the aspca's guidelines.

i'm not an expert! but the kitten didn't seem to have an infection. i'm guessing it is a first time mother large litter issue.

i'll weigh the kitten again later when mom isn't nursing, but i think we'll prob put this one on formula.

no underweight babies as of tonight! thankfully, the one we were concerned about didn't need formula. mom's doing great.
